The Story of This Rug
The hunting garden composition is one of the most prestigious styles of Safavid court rugs; gazelles and birds express the vitality of the garden, while flowing branches symbolize eternity. The sky-blue ground creates an airy setting for the scene.
Why Choose a Single-Piece Handwoven Afghan Rug
- Uniqueness: Only one of these rugs exists; the same knotting rhythm and dye batch can never be reproduced.
- Durability of natural dyes: Unlike synthetic aniline dyes, natural root dyes do not fade—they simply soften over time.
- Ghazni wool: Long-fiber wool from high-altitude sheep, rich in lanolin, providing natural stain resistance and a silky sheen.
- Asymmetrical Persian knot: Finer detail resolution and sharper motif edges than the Turkish (Gördes) knot.
- Investment value: Genuine handwoven rugs made with natural dyes increase in value through generations of use.
Color and Pattern
Honey-yellow, madder-red, and cream figures stand out against the light blue ground, while the madder-red border surrounding all four sides seals the composition. It brings warmth to Scandinavian simplicity alongside white walls and natural wood.
Care Recommendations
- Clean using a vacuum head without a brush, on a low setting.
- Blot spills immediately with a white cotton cloth; do not rub.
- Rotate 180° every six months so sunlight and foot traffic are distributed evenly.
- Leave wet cleaning to a rug specialist experienced with natural dyes.
Handwoven Afghan rugs are not “manufactured”; they are “woven.” This piece is the same—a one-time purchase, with no identical version found in any other home.

Protect Elegance
A delicate care routine should be adopted to preserve the original splendor and silky texture of Carpetdocia's handwoven and natural-fiber pieces, which add value to your living space, for generations to come.
Immediate Action and Contact with Liquids
When liquid is spilled, timing is the most critical factor. Using a clean, slightly damp cloth, remove the liquid from the surface by gently blotting only, never rubbing. Always work in the direction of the rug's pile (the natural direction in which the fibers lie). Rubbing can damage the shape of delicate fibers such as TENCEL™ and viscose. If you are unsure, stop immediately.
Routine Care and Light Balance
For your weekly cleaning routine, always use vacuum cleaners with low suction power. High-powered upright vacuum cleaners and stiff brushes can damage the natural structure of handwoven yarns. To balance the reaction of natural yarns to light and prevent localized tonal differences (fading), we recommend changing the direction of your rug every 2 to 6 months.
The Expert Touch (Professional Cleaning)
Noble textures such as handwoven fibers, TENCEL™, viscose, and New Zealand wool should not come into contact with household chemical cleaners. Such products can irreversibly damage the rug's silky sheen and structural integrity. For deep cleaning, seek assistance only from professional rug care centers specializing in natural fibers.
