Hitit Series 50% Wool 50% Jute Handwoven Traditional Anatolian Living Room Rug – Beige (Natural Jute)
The Hitit Series Handwoven Rug is a special collection that brings traditional weaving culture into modern living spaces. Made from a 50% wool and 50% jute blend, this rug contains 100% natural materials. Combining the warmth of wool with the natural character of jute, it adds understated yet distinctive style to spaces such as living rooms, sitting rooms, and bedrooms. This variant features a warm beige base woven with golden jute yarns, in a natural, earthy beige tone.
What Are Wool and Jute?
Wool and jute are two natural fibers derived from nature. Wool is an animal fiber obtained from sheep; it is warm, flexible, and durable. Jute is a strong plant fiber with a natural texture, obtained from the stems of the jute plant. In the Hitit Series, 50% wool and 50% jute come together to offer both the softness and warmth of wool and the natural, earthy texture of jute, creating a breathable, healthy, traditional foundation. Wool’s naturally crimped fibers give the rug a soft feel and sound-absorbing properties, while jute’s high tensile strength helps it retain its shape for years. Compared with synthetic rugs, this combination of natural fibers offers a more natural experience and a healthier feel indoors.
Hitit and Anatolian Heritage
The Hittites were an ancient people who established a powerful civilization in Anatolia between approximately 1650 and 1180 BCE, with their capital at Hattusa (near present-day Çorum). One of Anatolia’s oldest cultures, the Hittites left their mark on history with their rich motifs and symbols. The Hitit Series draws inspiration from this ancient Anatolian heritage and traditional weaving culture; with its simple, natural, timeless lines, it brings this long-established aesthetic into modern living spaces.

How Do You Clean a Hitit Rug?
Hitit Series wool and jute rugs should be cleaned by dry cleaning only. Since jute fibers are sensitive to water, washing at home, cleaning with lots of water, or soaking is not recommended; this helps preserve the rug’s shape and natural texture. For everyday care, use a vacuum cleaner on a low-suction setting. If liquid spills occur, promptly blot the spot with a slightly damp cloth.

Protect Its Elegance
To preserve the original splendor and silky texture of Carpetdocia’s handwoven creations made with natural fibers—which add value to your living space—for generations, a careful care routine is essential.
Immediate Action and Liquid Spills
When a liquid spills, timing is critical. Using a clean, slightly damp cloth, blot the liquid gently from the surface without rubbing. Always work in the direction of the rug’s pile (the natural direction in which the fibers lie). Rubbing can damage the shape of delicate fibers such as TENCEL™ and viscose. If in doubt, stop immediately.
Routine Care and Light Balance
For your weekly cleaning routine, always use a vacuum cleaner with low suction. High-powered upright vacuums and stiff brushes can damage the natural structure of handwoven yarns. To balance how natural yarns react to light and prevent uneven changes in color (fading), we recommend rotating your rug every 2 to 6 months.
Expert Care (Professional Cleaning)
Fine textures such as handwoven fibers, TENCEL™, viscose, and New Zealand wool should not come into contact with household chemical cleaners. These products can irreversibly damage the rug’s silky sheen and structural integrity. For a thorough clean, seek help only from professional rug care centers specializing in natural fibers.
Washing Instructions
Due to their construction, the exceptional pieces in Carpetdocia collections are not suitable for machine washing. (Only our specific models explicitly marked “Washable” in their names can be washed in household machines on a low-temperature, delicate cycle.)
