Stain and Liquid Cleaning (Handwoven / Tencel / Viscose / Wool)
In the case of a liquid spill, time is of the essence. Gently blot the stain with a clean, damp cloth or paper towel, never rubbing. Clean in the direction of the carpet fibers (the direction in which the carpet fibers run). Rubbing damages the fibers and drives the stain deeper. Over-wetting delicate fibers like Tencel and viscose can cause color change; when in doubt, stop the treatment.
Routine Maintenance
Use a low-suction vacuum for weekly maintenance; high-powered upright vacuums can cause fiber shrinkage in hand-woven rugs. Rotate the rug every 2–6 months to avoid exposing it to sunlight from the same spot. Direct sunlight can cause tone variations, especially in viscose and Tencel rugs.
